Julie Beth Yelin MD - Functional Medicine Dr - Woodlands, TX

Dr. Julie Beth Yelin is a native Houstonian.  After graduating Salutatorian from Memorial High School, she continued her journey of a well-rounded education in the Plan II Honors Program at the University of Texas in Austin.  She chose to graduate early, and did so with Honors, for the opportunity to live abroad in Switzerland and travel throughout Europe.  Dr. Yelin's education continued with a scholarship to Duke University's Medical School. Upon completion of her residency at George Washington University, Dr. Yelin lived in South America for a year where she learned Spanish.  Then Dr. Yelin moved back to the Houston area to begin her medical practice.

After practicing as an oculoplastic surgeon for a decade, Dr. Yelin made the decision to follow her real passion for preventive medicine and healthy living.  Dr. Yelin believes in preventing disease, instead of treating it.  She follows the principles of functional medicine which identify the root causes of ones health issues and fix them as naturally as possible, rather than simply prescribing synthetic medications which only mask symptoms, a “band-aid” approach.

Dr. Yelin trained under Dr. Neal Rouzier, a world renowned leading author and pioneer in the field of Age Management Medicine.  Dr. Yelin enjoys providing comprehensive, individualized plans for her patients.  In an effort to treat the whole patient, Dr. Yelin not only optimizes hormones using the "evidence-based" support of bio-identical hormone replacement for men and women, but also addresses nutrition, supplementation, and fitness.

Dr. Yelin tries to be a role model for her patients by "practicing what she preaches."  She truly empathizes with and relates to her patients as she is also a patient in addition to being her patients' doctor.  Her passion only grows stronger each year that she learns more! She is eager and excited to share her knowledge and help her patients prevent age-related diseases, optimize their health, and feel their BEST!

Dr. Yelin is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine.  She has advanced certification in Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement by WorldLink Medical.    .

In addition to preventive medicine, Dr Yelin has a passion for animals.  When she is not working as a functional medicine doctor, Dr. Yelin spends time with her family and their numerous animals. She enjoys horseback riding, skiing, salsa/bachata dancing and regular exercise.
